Clinical / Counselling Psychologist (Band 7, 0.8 WTE)
Site: Sutton hospital, Royal Marsden NHS Foundation Trust.
Hours: 0.8 (3–5 days a week with flexibility). Please indicate desired days in your application.
Responsibilities
* Deliver a specialist clinical/counselling psychologist service to adult cancer patients, including assessment and evidence‑based interventions.
* Provide direct inpatient and outpatient care within the directive pathway using CBT/ACT/CFT approaches.
* Supervise nurses and allied health professionals (AHPs) and provide psychological consultation to medical and rehabilitation teams.
* Consult multidisciplinary teams through psychosocial meetings, MDT meetings and relevant clinic attendance.
* Utilise research skills for audit, policy development and ongoing improvement of psychological services.
* Develop, organise and deliver specialist psychological education and training for multi‑professionals, and support the educational needs of patients and carers.
* Offer clinical supervision to trainee psychological practitioners, assistant psychologists and other relevant staff.
* Participate in service development activities to enhance the overall quality of psychological care.
Qualifications & Requirements
* Registered clinical or counselling psychologist, or CBT therapist, licensed to practice in the UK.
* Experience working in an acute hospital setting using CBT, ACT or CFT approaches.
* Experience or knowledge of EMDR is a plus.
* Demonstrated ability to work autonomously within professional guidelines, trust policies and procedures.
* Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively in multidisciplinary teams.
* Commitment to continuous professional development.
