We are searching for an Assistant Cook to work 32 hours per week at our Care Home based in Dronfield S18. The Assistant Cook must be available to work shift patterns across Monday-Sunday, including Bank Holidays and Christmas. The successful candidate will have the relevant Food & Hygiene qualifications for this position and proof of certificate is required.

Kitchen Managers
JOB PURPOSE
To provide catering services within the Homes, assist the Kitchen Managers in the management and preparation and all meals within the Homes.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
· Run shifts in the kitchens managing the teams and service
· Requisition of appropriate food and other kitchen supplies on a daily basis.
· Preparation and cooking of all meals necessary to set menus and as per dietary requirements
· Stock take and ordering of product from suppliers using stock sheets provided
· Handling of all food, both cooked and uncooked in an appropriate manner.
· Washing of all implements, surfaces and loading/unloading the dishwasher.
· Maintenance of the kitchen and food storage areas to health and safety standards.
· Emptying and cleaning all refuse bins.
· Usage of all equipment as per the manufacturer's instructions. Any faults in this equipment to be reported to the senior staff member on duty immediately.
· Maintenance of personal hygiene at all times whilst on duty.
· To cooperate with the Manager to ensure proper compliance with the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974.
· Any other duties as allocated by the Manager to ensure the efficient running of the Kitchen.
EXTRA DUTIES
· To undertake such other duties, training and/or hours of work as may be reasonably required and which are consistent with the general level responsibility of this job.
