Brief description of job purpose
The purpose of the role is to effectively provide administrative and bookkeeping support to the accounts manager and enhance the smooth effective operation of the service from an administrative perspective.
Job Summary:
We are seeking a meticulous and detail-oriented Data Entry Clerk & Bookkeeper. The ideal candidate will be given full training on our in-house KCS/Clipboard: Computer Accounting Software. The position requires pro-activeness & strong personal organisation skills, and a solid understanding of bookkeeping and associated administrative tasks.
QUALIFICATION, EXPERIENCE, COMPETENCIES:
Experience:
* At least 5 years working experience within a financial or similar environment
* Able to adapt to Bespoke Accounting System essential
Duties:
* Input into & maintain accurate financial records and ledgers using our accounts built-in package
* Perform data entry tasks to ensure all financial transactions are recorded promptly and accurately.
* Handling accounts payable and receivable
* Managing profit and loss statements and balance sheets
* Paying regular bills for the company
* Maintaining company ledgers
* Handling client invoices by recording and approving or denying the payments
* Manage accounts payable and receivable, including invoice processing and payment tracking.
* Reconcile bank statements and resolve discrepancies as needed.
* Completing VAT Returns: Calculating and submitting Value Added Tax (VAT) returns in accordance with regulations.
* Support administrative tasks such as filing, organising and storing documents for easy access for audit purposes, maintaining office supplies.
* Demonstrate excellent interpersonal & written skills
* Invoicing deliveries and paying suppliers for their goods and services
* Maintaining office supplies by keeping an inventory and ordering new supplies as needed
* Filing historical records and retrieving necessary documents as needed for others
* Recording cash receipts and handling bank deposits
* Maintaining petty cash
* Preparing information for auditors
* Keeping an annual company budget
* Providing administrative and clerical support as needed
* Additional bookkeeping duties as designated by management

Specific Description:
* Assist with the production of monthly management accounts
* Help with the production of annual budget schedules
* Undertake accounts Assistant duties, including sales and purchase ledger and bank reconciliation when required
Profile:
* AAT Qualified
* Sound knowledge of double entry bookkeeping is essential
* An efficient and capable candidate who could take ownership of the administrative and transactional finance tasks
* Accountancy and mathematical qualification would be preferable.
