An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic, reliable part-time Receptionist for 24.5 hours a week to join our friendly, busy team working between 0800 and 1pm Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday 08.00 to 1830.
The ideal candidate must have an excellent telephone manner, be able to work under pressure, have empathy, and be a great team player. You will be expected to be proactive and use initiative, with good IT skills and the ability to multitask. Good verbal and written communication skills, common sense and a good sense of humour are essential.
Applicants will need to be flexible with a positive attitude and will need to demonstrate an excellent standard of patient care. There is integration between the reception and administration teams and some cross cover would be expected.
General Practice experience and knowledge of EMIS would be an advantage, but not essential.
Jubilee Surgery is a friendly, forward-thinking Practice based in Whitton in a modern purpose built healthcare premises. Our friendly, very busy practice has 6000 patients, 2 GP Partners, 3 Salaried GP's, 2 Practice Nurses, 1 Healthcare Assistant, 1 Social Prescriber, 3 Pharmacists, a Physician Associate and, last but not least, a fantastic team of Receptionists, Administrators & Secretaries.
Job Description
Receive, assist and direct patients in accessing the appropriate service or healthcare professional in a courteous, efficient and effective manner.
Provide general assistance to the practice team and project a positive and friendly image to patients and other visitors, either in person or via the telephone.
To have a thorough knowledge of all practice procedures.
Politely receive patients and efficiently consult with members of the practice team - Be able to perform all reception duties as necessary
Make, change & cancel appointment requests from patients by telephone and in person effectively and in line with practice procedures, Process visit requests from patients.
Liaise with other health professionals and other members of the public as required Telephone. Have a thorough working knowledge of the practice telephone system
Other Tasks:
During times of colleague absence, all staff are required to be flexible to cover additional/alternative shifts/hours to ensure the practice runs smoothly at all times.
The post-holder will participate in any training programme implemented by the practice as part of this employment, such training to include:
Participation in an annual individual performance review, including taking responsibility for maintaining a record of own personal and/or professional development
