The post holder will have Singleton as their base hospital and may work within another Day Surgical Unit within the Health Board. The role involves assessing, developing, implementing, and evaluating pre, peri, and post-operative patient care, working closely with all disciplines to ensure effective department operation in the absence of the Lead Nurse. The post requires providing technical and specialist assistance with high dexterity, precision, and concentration. The post holder will organize their own workload, supervise others, and participate in supervision, teaching, and mentorship, adhering to the NMC Code of Professional Conduct and Standards of Practice.
Main duties of the job
We are recruiting a Registered Nurse for our busy Day Surgery Unit at Singleton Hospital. The role involves pre- and post-operative care for patients undergoing various surgeries, including Orthopaedic, Plastic, and Ophthalmic. The work is fast-paced and mentally demanding, requiring independence and focus to ensure safe nurse-led discharges. The unit operates Monday to Friday, 7:30 am to 6 pm. The candidate must be adaptable to the evolving service environment.
