Join Our Team as a Trials & Commissioning Engineer – Electrical!
Salary: Circa £46,000-£49,000 based on your skills and experience
Location: Scotstoun – On-site
What You’ll Be Doing:
As a vital member of our team, you will:
* Set to work on electrical marine systems across the entire ship platform, including Power and Propulsion, HVAC, Fixed Fire Fighting, LV Distribution, and more.
* Act as an Electrical Authorised Person, ensuring safe systems of work for ship electrical systems, including isolations and safe energisation.
* Conduct audits and inspections of electrical systems for handover to Commissioning, collaborating with ship Operations and Design teams.
* Write technical documentation to support trials, including test forms, minor trials documentation, and risk assessments.
* Coordinate with equipment manufacturers, clients, and acceptance bodies to demonstrate acceptance of ship systems.
* Utilize and analyze technical drawings and manuals to troubleshoot ship systems, working closely with design teams to resolve issues.
* Define the scope of handover for electrical systems and testing requirements to align with overall program needs.
Your Skills and Experience:
Essential:
* Experience in Marine engineering or a similar industry.
* Strong technical understanding of electrical systems operation and design.
* Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to coach and mentor within multidisciplinary teams.
* Capability to obtain a Seafarers Medical Certificate.
All engineers should hold an academic qualification in Engineering or related STEM subjects, along with specific qualifications to become recognized as Incorporated or Chartered Engineers through a professional institution.
We encourage and support our engineers in achieving relevant accreditation.
Preference will be given to candidates who are already professionally registered.

The Commissioning Engineering Team:
Join a large, dynamic team where you will report directly to the Senior Commissioning Team Lead. Collaborate with global stakeholders and participate in crucial Equipment Acceptance events within the Type 26 program.
