About the Role
We are a child‑centred company committed to reimagining support for vulnerable young people by providing flexible, trauma‑informed tutoring and mentoring. We need a Core Subject (Maths, English, or Science) SEND Tutor/Teacher to work with pupils and students, KS1‑KS5, referred by local authorities and schools.
Responsibilities
* Support the SEND Support Team and provide assistance to keep a team around you and the child.
* Plan and report lessons, and provide regular feedback on student progress.
* Develop and deliver trauma‑informed tutoring and mentoring sessions for pupils with SEND, SEMH, MLD, SLD, and PMLD.
* Engage with CPD and employee mentoring programmes (TES CPD suite and professional mentor access).
* Contribute to community and company events, knowledge sharing, and resources.
* Participate in the referral programme, rewarding successful tutor referrals.
Qualifications & Experience
* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS/QTLS).
* Minimum 2+ years of teaching experience, ideally with SEND, SEMH, MLD, SLD, and/or PMLD in a holistic and trauma‑informed way.
* Knowledge of safeguarding and ability to create a safe learning environment.
* Enhanced DBS and 2+ professional references (facilitated if needed).
* Familiarity with teaching English, Maths, and/or Science.
* Experience in roles such as SENDCo, SLD/MLD Teacher, Autism/ADHD Support Teacher, Intervention Specialist, or educational therapist is highly desirable.
* Other relevant roles from therapeutic and learning support background: Learning Support Assistant, Teaching Assistant, Educational Therapist, Speech and Language Therapist, Educational Psychologist, Inclusion Coordinator.
Location & Working Arrangements
Gateshead, Tyne & Wear. £28‑£35 per hour. Contract position. Must be based in the UK and have the right to work in the UK, even for remote/online roles.
