We are currently recruiting a Mechanical Maintenance Technician to join our Wastewater Treatment Team, playing a vital role in the maintenance and repairs of our wastewater treatment works across the Cherwell (Banbury) area.
You will ensure compliance with environmental, quality, and customer service standards, while adhering to H&S legislation and achieving budgetary targets. Your mechanical and electrical expertise will help us remain compliant, reduce pollution, and keep our sites operational. There is also scope for innovation and continuous process improvement.
This role offers the opportunity to make a difference to our customers and the environment. You will need to inspect, maintain, fault diagnose, test, install, modify, or repair mechanical plant equipment, supporting the plant's 24/7 operation.

What you’ll be doing as the Mechanical Maintenance Technician
1. Investigate plant failures and carry out repairs promptly to prevent process interruptions.
2. Perform scheduled maintenance on mechanical equipment following company standards.
3. Provide technical advice and support to the team, including training technical trainees if needed.
4. Maintain technical equipment such as pumps, control gear, valves, pipework, and chemical handling systems.
Your Base Location and Working Pattern
Based at Banbury STW, with a 38-hour week, Monday-Friday, 07:30-15:36, plus standby rota for additional pay. All PPE, tools, and a van are provided.
What you should bring to the role
* Significant experience in mechanical systems, with NVQ or C&G Level 3 in mechanical engineering, and upskilling in mechanical NVQ2/3.
* Experience with large industrial plant equipment, especially pumps.
* Knowledge of health and safety standards.
* Full UK driving license.
