About the Role I'm working with a leading fit-out contractor who is looking for a Job Running Quantity Surveyor to take full ownership of high-spec interior projects. You'll be managing the commercial side from start to finish-driving financial performance while keeping clients happy. It's a great opportunity for a proactive QS who's confident running projects independently and wants to make a real impact. Key Responsibilities Project Cost Management: Oversee all cost management activities for interior fit-out projects, ensuring budgets are accurately forecasted, monitored, and controlled. Procurement & Subcontractor Management: Prepare tender packages, evaluate subcontractor quotations, and negotiate terms to ensure value for money and timely delivery of specialist packages. Valuations & Variations: Prepare interim valuations, assess variations, and manage change control processes to maintain commercial control and support prompt client and subcontractor payments. Contract Administration: Administer contracts (JCT or similar), ensuring compliance with contractual obligations, timelines, and risk management processes throughout the project lifecycle. Financial Reporting & Forecasting: Produce accurate cost reports, cash flow forecasts, and final accounts, providing the commercial team and senior management with up-to-date financial insights and risk assessments. Client & Stakeholder Liaison: Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, contractors, and stakeholders, ensuring clear communication and effective resolution of issues. What We're Looking For Experience: Minimum of 3 years in a Quantity Surveying role within the interior fit-out sector, with a proven track record of managing projects independently. Qualifications: A degree in Quantity Surveying or a related field. MRICS or working towards chartership is advantageous. Skills: Strong knowledge of current market rates, procurement strategies, and contract law. Proficiency in cost estimation and financial reporting software. Attributes: Excellent communication and negotiation skills, a proactive approach to problem-solving, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
