We’re on the lookout for a Senior Design Manager to join our dynamic Natural Resources team, focusing on an exciting project in the beautiful Thames Valley region at Wisley, Surrey. In this pivotal role, you’ll oversee the design phase of construction projects, specifically on wastewater treatment upgrades and resilience works.
Location & Contract
Location: Enjoy the flexibility of working from home, with occasional visits to our site and offices, primarily focusing on the Wisley site in Surrey.
Contract: Permanent, Full Time – we also offer flexible and part-time hours if that suits your lifestyle better. Just let us know!
Your Responsibilities
As our Senior Design Manager, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that civils-based construction projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. You’ll be collaborating with Thames Water on their Waste Asset Assurance Programme (WAAP) for both new and existing infrastructure assets.
Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:
* Coordinating with architects, engineers, and design consultants to create comprehensive design solutions.
* Reviewing and approving design drawings, specifications, and project documents.
* Ensuring compliance with design standards, building codes, and client requirements.
* Developing and implementing effective design management processes and procedures.
* Monitoring design progress, identifying potential issues or risks, and managing design change control and documentation.
What We’re Looking For
This role is perfect for you if you have:
* A Bachelor’s degree in architecture, engineering, or construction management.
* Proven experience as a Design Manager or in a similar role within the civils/construction industry.
* A strong understanding of construction processes, building codes, and industry standards.
* Proficiency in design software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, BIM).
