We’re seeking an experienced Compliance and Policy Manager to join our Independent Assurance Department. This is an exciting role that will provide a standard approach to managing our compliance obligations and how we control these through a robust policy framework.
You will collaborate with senior leaders across the organisation to lead and coach the understanding, ownership and control of their compliance responsibilities. Building on our work through 2025 to further develop a standard and consistent approach to policy documentation and leading the RNLIs approach to business resilience and continuity.
Your role will
3. Lead the development and integration of the RNLI’s enterprise-wide compliance strategy, aligning with organisational objectives and risk appetite.
4. Own and govern policy standards, overseeing documentation control and maintaining consistency and compliance.
5. Monitor regulatory requirements and emerging legislation through the established Compliance forum, addressing control gaps and reporting compliance performance and risks.
6. Influence and coach leaders to embed compliance into everyday practices through education, training, and continuous improvement initiatives.
7. Define and implement the organisation’s business resilience strategy, including the leading the creation and testing of continuity plans to safeguard operational readiness.
About you
Our ideal candidate will have:
8. Experience of leading compliance, policy and/or resilience management in a medium sized, multi-disciplined and dispersed organisation.
9. Membership of a professional body and evidence of CPD relevant to risk, compliance or resilience management.
10. The ability to build strong working relationships with senior stakeholders across an organisation and influence effectively at all levels.
11. A full Driving Licence (for UK and Ireland)
Hybrid working will be considered, with travel expected to our Support Centre in Poole and occasional over-night travel to support our regional model, as required. The successful candidate should be prepared to travel nationally as required and stay away overnight.
