IT Support Technician

As IT Desktop Support you will serve as the first point of contact for technical issues, ensuring prompt resolution and appropriate escalation to 3rd party IT providers.
Day to day duties will also include assisting with the stability of the company's computer systems and electronic data, maintenance and supporting implementation of customised systems and overseeing all computer-related activities. The successful candidate will be based in Poole, but occasional visits to Southampton office may be required. Setup workstations for new starters (monitors, cables, keyboard and other IT equipment etc.
Install, configure, test and update computer software, hardware, operating systems and applications for both Windows and Mac OS
Monitor, diagnose and resolve hardware and software issues for urgent requests that cannot wait for 3rd party
Assist in creating and maintaining IT documentation e.g. IT Asset register, Inventory, IT Handbook, Knowledge Base.
IT qualification, ideally at NVQ Level 3 or higher
Genuine interest in IT and technology
Hands-on software and hardware troubleshooting experience
Strong knowledge of Ms Office Suite, Windows and Mac OS operating systems
BA or BS degree in computer science, economics or other relevant fields
Previous IT experience as desktop support or technical support is advantageous
Experience in SQL, Tableau, BigQuery or other data visualisation tools is a plus
Advanced Excel skills
Proficient in SQL reporting writing
