Location: Tiverton
Hours: Full-time, Permanent

Our client is a well-established and respected regional law firm seeking a motivated Residential Conveyancing Paralegal to join their busy Tiverton office. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with experience in residential property law to further develop their skills within a supportive and professional environment.


Key Responsibilities

In this role, you will support the smooth running of the residential property department, including:

* Assisting with the full lifecycle of residential conveyancing transactions from instruction through to completion.
* Preparing draft contract packs and ensuring all necessary documentation is gathered for each property matter.
* Handling enquiries from clients, estate agents, solicitors and other stakeholders, providing clear and timely responses.
* Ordering and reviewing property searches, obtaining Land Registry documents and managing other pre-contract checks.
* Preparing completion statements, handling financial elements of transactions and liaising with mortgage lenders where required.
* Coordinating exchange and completion, keeping all parties updated throughout the process.
* Managing post-completion tasks including SDLT submissions and Land Registry applications.
* Drafting correspondence, maintaining accurate records and managing files using case-management software.
* Providing general administrative support to the department, including document production and, where required, occasional reception cover.
* Ensuring all work is carried out in accordance with compliance, regulatory and data‑protection requirements.


Person Specification

The ideal candidate will have:

* Previous experience working in a residential conveyancing setting, ideally in a fee‑earning or assistant capacity.
* Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage a busy and varied workload.
* Excellent attention to detail and a methodical approach to document preparation and file management.
* Confident communication skills, both written and verbal.
* A proactive, professional and client‑focused attitude.
* Good IT capability, including proficiency with Microsoft Office and case‑management systems.
* The ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
