Our Legal Services team is seeking a Legal Services Administrator (full time) to play a pivotal role in our continued success. This role is based in Grantham, Lincolnshire.
What You’ll Be Doing
You will be responsible for providing a professional administrative service to the Legal team and and providing daily cashier duties on behalf of the team. Full training on the role of legal cashier can be given to the right applicant.
* Assisting the Head of Legal Services with reviewing internal processes within the legal team to improve efficiency.
* Assisting with file opening for the legal team
* Producing client letters and letters of engagement, including standard and templates and deviations
* Monitoring and tracking the return of letters of engagement
* Ensuring compliance documents are sent out and returned both electronically and via post.
* Monitor and manage key dates for clients and ensure compliance procedures are up to date on all files and matters.
* Manage client account payments in a timely manner and maintain ledger postings
* Maintaining and transfer of funds for invoices paid on account
* Correct maintenance of postings to the ledger
* Checking unallocated client monies and if necessary, returning to sender,
* Bank reconciliations of client account
* Drafting of invoices for the team
* Notifying COFA of any possible breaches of SRA accounts rules
* Ensuring that HMLR invoices are posted to the matter and split for VAT
What You’ll Need to Succeed
We’re looking for someone with:
* Must have indefinate leave to remain in the UK.
* Organised and methodical
* Excellent communication skills – both written and oral
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* Developing legal compliance knowledge
* A broad range of IT skills
* Ability to work to deadlines.
* Accuracy of work
* Legal knowledge
* Experience of legal cashier duties is desirable
