📍 Basildon (SS13, 2–3 days per week)

The Company
We are partnering with a well-established and growing FMCG business with a global presence, operating across the UK and a range of international markets. With over 200 employees and a strong heritage as an importer, manufacturer, and distributor, the business manages a diverse portfolio of 7,000+ SKUs, with an appetite for growth.
With ambitious plans to scale the business over the next five years, this role will play a pivotal part in shaping both the strategy and execution of that growth. You’ll work closely with the leadership team focused on building on strong foundations and driving the business forward into its next phase.
The Opportunity
This is a high-impact, strategic leadership role with a clear pathway to Board-level progression.
You will take full ownership of their eCommerce ecosystem across:
* Marketplaces (Amazon, eBay, TikTok shop, etc.).
* B2B Trading Website (1000’s of trade buyers across multiple distribution channels).
* D2C websites
* Digital marketing & performance channels.
You’ll lead and scale a multi-channel eCommerce function, working cross-functionally with marketing, operations, and fulfilment to drive revenue growth, improve customer experience, and build a best-in-class digital operation.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership
* Define and execute the overarching eCommerce strategy aligned with the company’s goal of scaling to £100m+.
* Own P&L across all eCommerce channels.
* Deliver data-driven insights and regularly present performance to senior leadership.
Marketplace Growth
* Lead and scale marketplace operations (Amazon, eBay, etc.).
* Optimise pricing, listings, promotions, and international expansion.
* Manage and develop a team of 3 (eCommerce Manager, Assistant Manager, Marketing Assistant).
D2C & B2B eCommerce
* Oversee the launch and growth of the D2C website.
* Drive customer acquisition, conversion, and retention strategies.
* Enhance and optimise the B2B platform, managing a team of 2 (Exec + Assistant).
Digital Marketing & Performance
* Collaborate with the Marketing Manager and Head of Creative to deliver high-performing campaigns.
* Oversee paid media, including TikTok, Amazon and other channels.
* Build and scale owned channels, including email marketing (New platform implementation).
Analytics & Performance
* Establish a highly analytical, data-led culture.
* Implement reporting frameworks, dashboards, and KPIs across all channels.
* Continuously optimise conversion, AOV, and customer lifetime value.
Operations & Fulfilment Integration
* Work closely with internal fulfilment (100+ staff, in-house warehouse/pick & pack team).
* Ensure seamless customer experience across order, delivery, and returns.
* Improve operational efficiency and scalability.
Team Structure
* Marketplace Team: eCommerce Manager, Assistant Manager, Marketing Assistant.
* B2B Team: eCommerce Executive, Assistant.
* Marketing: Marketing Manager & Head of Creative.
* Wider collaboration with operations & fulfilment (100+ team).
What We’re Looking For
* Proven experience in a senior eCommerce leadership role within FMCG, retail, or consumer goods.
* Strong background in marketplace growth (Amazon essential).
* Experience launching and scaling D2C eCommerce platforms.
* Highly analytical mindset with a track record of using data to drive growth.
* Strong commercial acumen and P&L ownership experience.
* Experience managing and developing teams.
* Comfortable operating at both strategic and hands-on levels.
* Experience with tools such as Klaviyo or similar CRM/email platforms is advantageous.
* Solid understanding of SEO, PPC, Paid Media
