About the role:
We currently have an exciting opportunity for an Instrumentation, Control & Automation (ICA) or Control and Instrumentation (C&I) technician to join our Water Production Operations Team based in the North East London region.
This is a mobile role, requiring work on various Water Treatment Works and borehole sites around the Chingford, Walthamstow, Waltham Abbey, and Stonebridge Park areas.
We seek someone who can work safely, efficiently, and effectively with minimal supervision, maintaining standards to meet statutory obligations and ensuring asset availability and performance measures are upheld to manufacturers' standards.
An ICA Technician may also operate and optimize processes and on-site equipment to ensure water quality compliance, safety, and operational efficiency, including outside of normal hours.
Responsibilities:
1. Installations, commissioning, maintenance, and repairs of water production assets such as level instrumentation, flow meters, and turbidity monitors.
2. Work with technology including SCADA systems, PLCs (Rockwell & Allen Bradley), and process control networks.
3. Supervise contractors and suppliers as necessary.
4. Investigate asset failures and implement repairs promptly to prevent water supply interruptions.
5. Provide technical advice and training support for apprentices.
Base Location:
Coppermills Water Production site near Walthamstow.
Working Pattern:
38 hours Monday-Friday 7:30 am – 3:36 pm, with standby and overtime opportunities potentially increasing earnings by £8,000 to £10,000.

Requirements:
* Strong practical understanding of operational assets and control systems.
* Experience with SCADA, relay logic, PLCs, and inverter drives.
* HNC/Level 4 or 6+ years’ experience including an apprenticeship in Control, Instrumentation, and Automation.
* Valid driving license.
* Safety-conscious, self-motivated, and team-oriented attitude.
