UK applicants only. This role is full-time and permanent, located at Upton Grange School, Slough. Start: January 2026. Salary: Up to £85,000 per annum. Hours: 38.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday. This role does not offer sponsorship. This position is part of Options Autism and Outcomes First Group.
About the Role
As a Headteacher, you will promote a relentless focus on high quality, creative learning, delivering pupils’ educational needs, maximising pupil achievement, and their development. You will have access to central services for Finance, Resourcing, HR and IT, and a network of Headteachers from other schools alongside central school improvement support.
Key Objectives
* Outstanding outcomes for students that reflect their needs, abilities and aptitudes.
* A safe environment that protects the welfare of pupils and staff.
* Meet statutory requirements defined by the DfE, Ofsted and other external bodies and achieve high inspection ratings.
* A motivated staff group engaged in achieving excellence and continuing personal/professional development.
* Commercial success of the school through occupancy, cost control and growth plans as appropriate.
* Strategic and operational planning including self-evaluation, school improvement and delivery.
* A shared vision within the Acorn Group strategy that inspires students, staff and the school community.
Essential
* At least three years’ experience as a senior leader in a specialist school for pupils with complex communication needs.
* Qualified Teacher Status or Equivalent.
* Willingness to extend personal and professional development.
* Ability to lead with a clear vision and understand leadership and management of school processes affecting pupil outcomes, staff motivation, pupil safety, and regulatory compliance.
Desirable
* Completion of NPQH.
* Experience of performance management, staff recruitment/induction, and curriculum planning across ages and abilities.

Upton Grange School is the Early Years, Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 setting for pupils with diverse needs. It is part of the Hillingdon Grange group of schools, located over four sites, offering education from early years to KS2 with an autism-specific approach. The group provides personalised teaching and learning to address pupil needs and realise their capabilities.
