What is a Cover Supervisor?
A cover supervisor (also known as an unqualified teacher) works within secondary schools to provide cover for classes when teachers are unavailable. They are employed on a flexible, day-to-day basis to allow teachers to attend training, meetings, or cover for short-term absences due to sickness or other reasons. Cover supervisors manage behaviour and ensure students stay on task and complete their work, but do not plan or assess lessons.
