Position: Early Career Teacher (ECT)
Location: Knowsley

Salary: £140 to £160 per day

About the Role:

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Early Career Teacher (ECT) to join a supportive and dynamic Special Educational Needs (SEN) school based in Knowsley. This temporary to permanent role offers a unique chance to gain valuable experience working with children who have Autism (ASC), ADHD, and Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, within a primary school setting and complete your ECT year within the school and then progress to a full teaching position.

As part of this role, you will be responsible for delivering tailored education to small groups or individual students, helping them to overcome their learning challenges and achieve their potential. You will work alongside a dedicated team of teaching assistants and SEN specialists, providing a nurturing environment where every student feels safe, valued, and supported.

Key Responsibilities:

Develop and deliver engaging lessons tailored to the individual needs of students.

Provide support to students with Autism, ADHD, and SEMH, focusing on their personal, social, and academic development.

Create a positive, inclusive, and safe classroom environment.

Implement personalised learning plans and behaviour management strategies.

Regularly assess students' progress and adapt teaching approaches as needed.

Work collaboratively with parents, carers, and external agencies to ensure the best outcomes for students.

Engage in professional development and attend school meetings as required.

The Ideal Candidate:

Holds QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) and is in the early stages of their teaching career.

Experience or strong understanding of working with children with SEN, particularly Autism, ADHD, and SEMH (experience in an SEN environment is a plus but not essential).

Enthusiastic, patient, and adaptable with a positive, solution-focused approach to teaching.

Ability to work effectively within a team and use initiative when required.
