Director/Partner (Construction & Property)
Location: South East England & London – Hybrid (site, office, client-facing)
About the role
Buildtonic Ltd is seeking a Director-level Partner to join the business during a critical growth phase. This is a senior leadership opportunity for an experienced, commercially minded individual who wants genuine responsibility, influence, and the opportunity to grow alongside the company.
This is not a traditional employed role. The successful candidate will work closely with the Founder and Finance Manager to help scale the business, strengthen operational delivery, and develop new opportunities across construction, renovation, and property-led projects.
Equity participation and profit share will be discussed with the right individual, aligned to contribution, performance, and long-term commitment.
Key responsibilities
* Work in partnership with the Founder and Finance Manager to shape and deliver Buildtonic’s growth strategy
* Contribute to long-term planning, company structure, and business development initiatives
* Represent the business at a senior level with clients, consultants, suppliers, and partners
* Support tendering, pricing strategy, and negotiation on larger or more complex projects
* Work closely with the Finance Manager on commercial performance, margins, and risk management
* Identify and develop new revenue streams, including repeat clients and development opportunities
* Provide senior oversight on live projects, programme, and delivery standards
* Support project managers and site teams with problem-solving and decision-making
* Ensure consistent quality across Buildtonic’s work, particularly on heritage and high-end residential projects
* Assist with recruitment and development of key staff as the business grows
* Help define roles, responsibilities, and progression pathways within the company
Candidate profile
* Senior experience in construction, property, or a closely related sector
* Strong commercial understanding of project margins, risk, and delivery
* Proven leadership experience at senior or director level, or ready to step into it
* Entrepreneurial mindset with a desire to build and grow a business
* High standards, integrity, and a strong work ethic
* Comfortable working in a growing business where structure is evolving
* High-end residential, heritage, or refurbishment project experience
* Background in project management, surveying, or development
* Existing industry network in the South East
* Experience helping scale a small or medium-sized construction business
