The Role
We are seeking to appoint a Project Support Officer to join the Managed Service Network (MSN) for Neurosurgery team. This post offers a hybrid working model, with a base at Kirklands – NHS Lanarkshire Headquarters.
The Managed Service Network for Neurosurgery (MSN) is a national Network responsible for delivering a coordinated neurosurgical service across four centres in Scotland. The Network supports the delivery of equitable, high-quality neurosurgical care across Scotland.
As a key member of the national team, the post holder will provide high-quality administrative and project support to the National Network Manager and wider MSN team. A central focus of the role will be to ensure the smooth running of administrative processes, including the coordination of meetings, accurate and timely minute-taking, and comprehensive diary management.
The successful candidate will act as a first point of contact for enquiries to the team, providing professional and responsive communication, and managing the flow of information effectively. The post holder will also be responsible for maintaining project records and databases, supporting internal systems, and assisting with the coordination of training and related administrative tasks.
This is an excellent opportunity for a highly organised and motivated individual with a strong administrative background to contribute to the delivery of a national specialist service.
What we'll need you to bring:
* HND level qualification in business administration/other relevant subject and experience in a similar administrative role
* High level of proficiency in use of Microsoft Office software, e.g. Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint
* Experience of engaging and working effectively with colleagues across disciplines
* Confident communicator
* Self-motivated with drive to achieve excellence
* Ability to work as team member but also work in isolation
* Ability to prioritise her/his workload and work to deadlines
* Interpersonal skills demonstrating maturity and sensitivity
* Ability to travel, typically once a month to team meetings
* Be flexible for occasional overnight stays, possibly once a year
* Must hold a driving licence (full valid UK/EU/EEA licence)
It would be great if you also have:
* Prince 2 or equivalent qualification
* Experience of working in the NHS
* Experience of servicing committees including minute-taking
* Previous experience in working in a project environment including supporting financial management processes
* Knowledge of medical terminology
* Ability to defuse stressful situations

Full time, 37 hours
