Equine Care Worker Hours: Part-time, 80 hours per month across a 4-weekly rota. You will be required to do 16-24 hours a week, covering across weekdays, evenings, and weekends. Pay : £12.21 per hour About the role We are seeking a reliable and flexible Equine Worker to join our dedicated team at Stable Futures. This is a temporary, part-time role working with our 15 horses and ponies on a 30-acre farm, as well as occasionally supporting the care of goats, alpacas, sheep, and chickens. Alongside equine care, you will contribute to our therapeutic environment, where children and young people access alternative provision to support their social and emotional development through horsemanship and animal care. You may be required to support with RDA sessions/ or equine facilitated learning. Responsibilities Provide daily equine care (grooming, feeding, exercising, rugging, turnout). Maintain stables, fields, tack, rugs, and equipment. Follow feed charts and ensure correct rations. Support general farm duties, including site tidiness, fencing, and animal welfare. Work effectively within the team and independently when required. Carry out routine health, safety, and welfare checks. Take part in training, supervision, and staff meetings. Uphold safeguarding, wellbeing, and health & safety policies. About you Essential: Knowledge/experience of working with horses and ponies. Ability to muck out, handle, and care for horses safely and confidently. Physically fit and prepared to work outdoors in all weather conditions. Team player with good communication skills. Ability to manage personal/professional boundaries. Flexible and available to work evenings, weekends, and public holidays. Adaptable, resilient, and positive attitude. Desirable Experience exercising/riding horses. Interest or experience in working with children/young people with social and emotional needs. Current driving licence and willingness to drive as part of the role.
