The Role
The primary purpose of this role is to support advisers in delivering a high-quality financial planning service. You will be responsible for conducting research, preparing detailed suitability reports, and providing technical expertise across a broad range of financial planning products. As a key member of the team, you will ensure all advice and client outcomes meet both regulatory and internal standards.
Responsibilities
* Prepare detailed, compliant suitability reports across advice areas such as investments, pensions, protection, and savings.
* Conduct data gathering and technical research for adviser recommendations in line with the advice and compliance process.
* Communicate regularly with advisers to discuss client needs, identify planning opportunities, and proactively support recommendations.
* Where appropriate, attend client meetings to support advisers and provide post-meeting technical follow-up.
* Maintain high standards of compliance and accurate CPD records in line with company and CII/PFS requirements.
* Manage and prioritise workloads, coordinating with the Adviser and Client Support teams.
* Build and maintain relationships with product providers and offer technical guidance to internal teams.
* Collaborate closely with client support colleagues to ensure best-in-class service delivery.
Experience
* Proven paraplanning experience within financial planning or advice firms.
* Level 4 Diploma Qualified (CII/PFS) or equivalent.
* Detailed technical knowledge of investment, pension, savings, and protection products.
* Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Teams, and Outlook).
* Experience using Client Management Systems, cashflow modelling tools, and FE Analytics.
* Strong written and verbal communication skills with a high standard of literacy.
* Demonstrated ability to handle complex planning cases and work both independently and in teams.
* Experience dealing with safeguarded pension transfers is desirable.
