Overview Consort Place is a vibrant new mixed-use development in Canary Wharf, comprising private and affordable housing, a 231-room hotel and the refurbished 160-year-old North Pole Public House. The jewel in the crown is Aspen, a 65-storey residential tower providing 502 new apartments along with a host of residents’ amenities including the Aspen Club and the 63rd floor sky lounge, Aspen Paramount. As Operations Manager of the Consort Place development, you will be responsible for the management of key operational departments including estate operations and housekeeping and the corresponding team members, and you will work closely with the General Manager to ensure high quality service levels are delivered and maintained You will also oversee the operation of key outsourced operations including M&E, security and landscaping. You will assist in driving the strategy and vision of the development and delivering the highest level of guest experience, continually striving for excellence. Role Description and Objectives To show attention to detail in all aspects of the job, whether it’s cleaning, back or front of house, and to assist in maintaining the building to the required standards. As Operations Manager you will be hands-on, visible to all team members and observing the day-to-day operations ensuring consistency of 5-star customer service. You will be responsible for the day-to-day recruitment and management of your team which includes housekeeping and estate operatives. To ensure consistent knowledge of the service vision and all other service standards or operating procedures and assist the Residential General Manager in their implementation ensuring our residential & guest experiences at Consort Place. Building trusted relationships and strong rapport with the residents and stakeholders. Assisting the General Manager in the monthly reporting of SLA’s & KPI’s against the security contract for the development. Job Description | Operations Manager Display a thorough understanding of workplace facilities management and ensure these best practices are implemented Managing the residential and commercial deliveries strategy Working with the Head of Security to be responsible for the day-to-day security provision and business continuity for the estate Managing permits and applications for commercial fitouts, ensuring resident safety systems are not disturbed Undertake regular inspections of the estate, reporting and arranging for repairs as required Ensure that adequate provision is made for emergency and out of hours cover, especially in relation to security, maintenance, and cleaning Ensuring sub-contractors deliveries comply with the established traffic management and logistic plan. Liaising with the team members to ensure unloading and loading operations are confined to the designated areas and loading bays and this is carried out in accordance with their RAMS Create a solid and effective working relationships with the teams, stakeholders, contractors and residents alike to ensure needs are met and exceeded Follow client and department health & safety and security policies and procedures to maintain a clean, safe, and secure environment To ensure COSHH is up to date and the team is trained on and monitor it is adhered too. Manage all audit processes to a high standard, ensuring 100% Health and Safety compliance throughout the development Encourage and motivate colleagues to perform their best, take responsibility for tasks and assignments, make decisions and provide input on possible improvements To carry out monthly stock takes of supplies and order new as needed Ensuring staff are appropriately presented at all times Excellent knowledge of all areas the building and plant rooms To ensure that a detailed daily log is maintained for any incidents, resident requests and shift handover To train and develop team members ensuring that standards are upheld, and team are all fully aware of their responsibilities To conduct probation meetings and regular performances assessments and mystery audits with all team members Be reliable, flexible, honest and a strong ambassador for Consort Place management team and perform and reasonably requested duties as required by line management. Assist with the delivery and support of the Building Safety Act 2022 where appropriate; ensuring that buildings are safe and feel safe for all stakeholders and managing the compliance documentation through the Dwellant system The main liaison for the Clarion Housing (West Tower) and associated residents and management and operations of the day-to-day running. Any other reasonable request as required by your manager appropriate for this position and to comply with all the Consort Place policies and procedures. Health & Safety Be aware of, and conversant with the relevant acts including the ‘Building Safety Act 2022’ and the ‘Health and Safety at Work Act’, complying with the regulations set down to ensure the safety of our stakeholders. Record all accidents and incidents according to Consort Place H&S Policy. Attend fire lectures and drills in accordance with the law, and to be fully aware to the position of fire alarms, emergency equipment and exits. Never to perform work you are not qualified to do or have not been properly trained for.
