Overview
Senior HR Advisor role at Flint Bishop in Derby, UK. The Senior HR Advisor will support the HR department in all operational aspects of the employee journey, with a focus on employee relations, systems & processes and learning & development.
This is an exciting role to support the firm at a growth stage as headcount and offices expand across the Midlands and Yorkshire. The position requires CIPD Level 5 qualification, experience in employment legislation, employee relations, mentoring and training.
Reporting directly to the Head of HR & HR Manager. The role is based at our Head office in Derby, with regular onsite visits to other locations including Leeds, Sheffield, York, Swansea & Birmingham.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide high quality and senior HR support to senior managers and stakeholders across the firm.
* In partnership with HR Managers, conduct face-to-face formal absence meetings; monitor sickness trends and flag issues to the Head of HR as required.
* Prepare detailed and reliable monthly HR updates for Heads of Department and present to Senior Managers as required.
* Manage a personal caseload of complex employee relations issues, updating the Head of HR, HR Managers and Senior Leadership teams.
* Present findings from exit interviews to management teams, Head of HR and the wider board on a quarterly basis; attend follow-up meetings with leavers where appropriate.
* Identify compliance training requirements with the Compliance Manager and allocate training to address knowledge gaps.
* Collaborate with the Head of HR & HR Managers to submit key information to the SRA annually (including diversity data and CPD records for qualified solicitors).
* Work with the Head of HR & HR Managers to pursue Investors in People Gold or Platinum awards; implement an annual programme to drive continuous improvement.
* Review, collate and present results from staff engagement surveys to the Head of HR and CEO; attend follow-up action meetings with Heads of Department.
* Maintain regular checks of employee files, starter and leaver checklists, and ensure HR department compliance.
* Drive the annual PDP process, designing PDP forms and processes within the HRIS, ensuring proper completion and scheduling one-to-one meetings across the firm; ensure actions are followed up within departments.
* Attend maternity and paternity meetings as required; conduct risk assessments and ensure keep-in-touch checkpoints during absence.
* Assist with other general HR duties as required by the Head of HR.
Skills, Knowledge And Expertise
* CIPD Level 5 qualified.
* At least 3 years of experience in an HR advisor role.
* Evidence of project management in areas such as learning and development and employee relations.
* Experience in managing complex employee relations issues end to end.
* Strong knowledge of UK employment law and ability to stay current with changes.
* Commercially focused with a drive for continuous improvement.
* Adept problem solver and excellent communicator able to handle crucial conversations at all levels.
* HR experience within the professional services sector is preferred.
