An exciting opportunity has become available for a Speech and Language Therapy Assistant to join Cygnet Wast Hills.
Cygnet Wast Hills provides support for individuals with autism, learning disabilities and complex needs. The team can support those who may be detained under the Mental Health Act, as well as individuals with complex behaviours or significant difficulties with social engagement. The staff work in a holistic, person-centred approach to assessment, care and treatment planning, with a focus on stability and discharge to a less restrictive setting. All staff are trained to understand autism and learning disabilities and to create a supportive environment.
Job Role
We are looking for a caring and motivated individual to work as part of the Speech and Language Therapy (SLT) team at Cygnet Wast Hills, supporting the communication needs of individuals at this location. This role combines clinical and administrative support; you will work directly with individuals or groups under the direction of a Speech and Language Therapist (SLT), report on progress, help with resources, and contribute to the development and maintenance of an accessible communication environment. Regular supervision is provided, and you will be eligible for training as part of the Cygnet SLT service.

We are looking for someone with
* An interest in Speech and Language Therapy
* Experience in learning disability and/or autism is desirable
* A genuine desire to help others
* Ability to follow and comply with delegated tasks
* Excellent communication and time management skills
* Enthusiasm, motivation and passion
