We're working with a local authority in the West Midlands that is urgently seeking an experienced Housing Options Assistant to support a busy Housing Options team during a period of high demand.Hours: Full-time, 37 hours per weekContract: 4-month contract, with potential for extensionKey responsibilities of a Housing Options Assistant:
* Securing and managing temporary accommodation placements
* Carrying out void inspections, property checks, and tenancy sign-ups
* Supporting homelessness prevention by liaising with landlords and clients
* Handling notices to quit and supporting with move-ons
* Completing benefit applications, licence agreements, and admin duties
* Working with partner agencies and support services
What we're looking for from a Housing options assistant:
* Strong background in temporary accommodation or housing options
* Confident dealing with vulnerable clients and external partners
* Good knowledge of housing law, especially around homelessness
* Excellent IT and record-keeping skills
* Car driver essential due to site visits
* Available immediately and able to commit for at least 4 months
