Early Years Teaching Assistant

Location: Gloucestershire

Contract: Full-time / Part-time / Flexible placements

About the Role

Are you passionate about supporting young learners in their earliest stages of education? Thrive Education is looking for Early Years Teaching Assistants to work in a range of settings across Gloucestershire.

We don’t believe in one-size-fits-all recruitment. Instead, we build meaningful relationships with schools and practitioners so that placements are thoughtful, compatible, and genuinely additive to both your career and the children’s experiences.

What You’ll Do

1. Support classroom activity in Early Years (Nursery/Reception) with empathy and professionalism
2. Assist the class teacher in delivering activities that support social, emotional, and educational development
3. Work with individuals and small groups, adapting your approach to meet children’s needs
4. Help create a safe, stimulating environment where every child feels valued

Who We’re Looking For

You might be someone with previous experience in Early Years or education support, great! But that’s not essential. What matters most to us is:

5. A genuine interest in helping young children grow and flourish
6. A proactive and patient approach to supporting learning and wellbeing
7. A collaborative spirit, you’ll be working closely with teachers and colleagues
8. Qualifications in childcare or education are desirable but not required

Why Join Thrive Education?

At Thrive Education, we place professionals not just to fill gaps, but to make meaningful contributions in the schools we work with, carefully matching you to roles that suit your strengths and goals.

We offer:

9. Flexible working arrangements to suit your lifestyle
10. Competitive pay rates
11. A supportive consultant team who listen and respond to your career aims
12. Opportunities for longer-term or ongoing roles as you grow
13. We value professionalism, clarity and partnership, taking time to understand what you need and what schools are really looking for. That means placements where you feel confident, appreciated, and set up to do your best.

Ready to make a positive impact in Early Years?
