Role: Pre-Construction Utility Consultant

Role Overview
Our client is a specialist multi-utility consultancy supporting leading UK developers. They provide services from feasibility to commissioning of electricity, water, telecoms, and heat networks. They are known for de-risking complex projects, especially in dense urban sites, with a team combining technical expertise and commercial insight to ensure efficient, compliant, and profitable project delivery.
Responsibilities
1. Client Engagement & Proposal Development: Collaborate with senior staff to meet clients, understand needs, and develop proposals.
2. Technical & Commercial Advisory: Liaise with utility companies, identify risks, and communicate findings professionally.
3. Design & Coordination: Prepare utility designs, coordinate with CAD teams, and manage tender processes.
4. Procurement & Contractor Management: Develop scopes, manage procurement, and oversee contractor activities.
5. Project Delivery: Oversee works, lead meetings, review documentation, and ensure project success.
6. Accountability: Take ownership of all pre-construction stages using company resources.
Requirements
1. Proven experience in utility connections and infrastructure strategies in the UK.
2. Strong understanding of electricity, gas, water, and telecom networks.
3. Experience with multi-utility providers, iDNOs, DNOs, GTs, Water, and Telecom networks.
4. Involvement in large, multi-disciplinary schemes.
5. Excellent organizational and client relationship skills.
6. Solid technical and commercial industry knowledge.
7. Strong communication and networking abilities.
