Are you an experienced Support Worker looking to make a meaningful difference, whilst maintaining a work/ life balance? We are recruiting a male Support Worker to join our weekend team in the Muscliff area working 25 hours per week. You would need to hold a Full UK driving license to be considered for this role, however access to your own vehicle is not essential. Please note Autism Unlimited do not provide sponsorship.
We are lucky enough to be supporting Lee, a male in his early twenties living in Muscliffe. Lee communicates through various aids such as PECS cards, body language, hand signs and gestures.
Days out to the local farm or Oceanarium
Watching CBeebies or Disney films.
This role would suit someone who is calm, patient and eager to help enable Lee to be as independent as possible and to look at new ways of interacting in the community.
You would work a mixture of shifts between: 7am - 4pm or 3pm - 10pm
A day in the life of a Support Worker would include:
Maintaining consistent and accurate records regarding care plans, finances, appointments and medication
Sharing your skills and life knowledge with the people we support to enable good life skills and independence when living in the community
Following the support plan in plan for each person we support to enable the person to feel comfortable and happy, adapting this as required based on change in behaviour
Providing some elements of personal care from personal hygiene prompts, helping to bath and wash, medication
