EMH Specialist – Epsom

Location: Epsom, Surrey
Salary: £85 – £98 per day (depending on experience)
Job Type: Full-time | Long-term | Immediate Start Available


About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEMH Specialist to support children and young people with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs within a supportive educational setting in Epsom. This is a rewarding opportunity for individuals passionate about helping students overcome barriers to learning and achieve their full potential. SEMH settings commonly support pupils with additional needs such as Autism, ADHD, trauma-related challenges, and behavioural difficulties.


Key Responsibilities

* Provide 1:1 and small-group support for pupils with SEMH needs.
* Build positive, trusting relationships with students.
* Support emotional regulation and positive behaviour strategies.
* Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, therapists, and parents.
* Implement personalised learning and behaviour support plans.
* Create a safe, nurturing, and inclusive learning environment.
* Monitor and report on student progress and wellbeing.


Requirements

* Previous experience working with children or young people with SEMH, SEND, Autism, ADHD, or behavioural needs.
* Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
* A patient, resilient, and empathetic approach.
* Ability to remain calm and professional in challenging situations.
* Relevant qualifications in Education, Psychology, Youth Work, Health & Social Care, or similar are desirable.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
