We are looking for an enthusiastic and adaptable Research Nurse or Research Practitioner (qualified allied healthcare professional e.g. paramedic, physician associate, pharmacist) to join the team at Lawrence Hill Health Centre.
Job Summary
This position supports the delivery of a portfolio of research studies within primary care, including identifying and recruiting participants, obtaining informed consent, and conducting study visits. The role will embed research into everyday clinical care and build relationships with diverse communities to improve participation in research.
Key Responsibilities
* Support the delivery of academic and commercial studies, from participant recruitment to data collection.
* Conduct study procedures such as sample collection, questionnaire completion, review of results and recording adverse events.
* Maintain high-quality study documentation and ensure compliance with good clinical practice and governance standards.
* Work closely with the GP Research Lead and practice team to embed research into routine care.
* Support community engagement activities and develop inclusive recruitment approaches for underrepresented groups.
* Assist in study set‑up, monitoring, and reporting of safety issues.
Person Specification
Essential Experience
* Experience working within primary care; an extensive research background in secondary care is acceptable.
* Experience managing workload and prioritising tasks.
* Ability to work autonomously within scope of practice.
* Interest in health research and delivery.
Desirable Experience
* Experience delivering clinical research studies.
* Experience researching within primary care settings.
* Experience handling research samples (centrifugation, storage, freezer temperature).
* Experience working in accordance with study protocols, SOPs, and regulatory frameworks.
* Experience with underserved or marginalised populations.
* Experience in community engagement or outreach.
* Experience using clinical (EMIS) and research (EDGE) systems.
Essential Qualifications
* Registered healthcare professional with current registration (e.g. nurse, paramedic, allied health professional, physician associate).
* Phlebotomy competency.
* Evidence of continuing professional development.
Desirable Qualifications
* Good Clinical Practice (GCP) training.
* Additional training or qualifications relevant to research delivery (e.g. informed consent) or primary care (e.g. chronic disease management).
* Experience in minor illness management.
Benefits and Working Conditions
Pay: Salary dependent on experience. Contract: Fixed term 12 months, part‑time with clinical time one day a week (Wednesday). Working pattern is part‑time and flexible to negotiate depending on skills and experience.
