Our client, a leading law firm in Leeds is looking to appoint a confident and proactive HR Advisor to join their team on a permanent basis and provide high-quality generalist HR support across the business. The successful candidate will have strong employee relations (ER) experience and a solid understanding of HR policies, procedures, and best practices. This role is key in supporting managers and employees through effective advice and guidance, ensuring compliance with employment law and contributing to the delivery of our people strategy. This role would suit someone stepping up from a HR co-ordinator position. Key Responsibilities Provide expert HR advice and guidance to managers and employees on a range of people matters, including performance, conduct, capability, absence, grievances, and disciplinary cases. Support the end-to-end management of complex ER cases, ensuring timely and legally compliant resolutions. Work collaboratively with the HR manager to advise and coach line managers on best practice and the consistent application of HR policies and procedures. Assist in the development, implementation, and review of HR policies, ensuring they are up to date and legally compliant. Maintain and update accurate employee records and documentation using the HR system. Produce HR reports and analytics to support business decisions and identify trends. Contribute to HR projects and initiatives aligned with the wider people strategy. Deliver training and briefings to managers on HR procedures and employment law updates as required. Ensure compliance with all relevant legislation and company policies. Support with recruitment. Person Specification Proven experience in a generalist HR role with a strong emphasis on employee relations casework. Up-to-date knowledge of UK employment law and HR best practices. Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines under pressure. Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build effective relationships at all levels. Confident in advising and influencing managers with a pragmatic, solution-focused approach. Highly organised with excellent attention to detail. CIPD Level 5 qualified (or working towards) or equivalent experience.
