Base Location: Perth

The Senior Cable Assurance Engineer reports to the Technical Authority (TA) Manager and works under the technical guidance of the Cables Principal Engineer / Technical Authority (TA). The role supports the network assurance strategy by ensuring equipment is properly designed, manufactured, and tested prior to energization. It also focuses on enhancing network reliability, ensuring resilience of equipment supply, and standardizing design and construction assurance.
You will:
1. Review manufacturer technical capability assessments during tender evaluations and assess specification compliance during design reviews.
2. Conduct factory audits in line with industry best practices; review testing schedules for cables and accessories as per relevant specifications.
3. Perform factory inspections and witness Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) and Site Acceptance Testing (SAT). Prepare reports to support approval of cables and accessories.
4. Contribute to risk assessments and approve deviations against relevant specifications.
5. Assist the Cables Principal Engineer with delegated Technical Authority tasks, including managing deviation requests, advising on technical specifications, and investigating failures.
You have:
1. A degree in Electrical Engineering or a relevant discipline, and Chartered Engineer status or working towards it.
2. Experience in testing HVAC / HVDC transmission cables and familiarity with relevant standards.
3. Knowledge of standards related to transmission underground/subsea cables.
4. Ability to assess quality issues and faults in HVAC / HVDC cables.
5. Manufacturing experience in HVAC / HVDC cables is advantageous.
