Occupational Therapy Technician - Early Intervention and Prevention Hub
Job Description
37 hours per week
We are on an ambitious journey to achieving a truly co‑productive approach to working with individuals and their carers. We believe that everyone has strengths, and our mission is to support individuals to maintain their independence so that they can live their lives well; we believe this starts at the point of first contact with the department. Our "Strengths‑Based Model of Practice" supports a multidisciplinary approach to enabling and supporting people who live with barriers caused by physical illness, mental health, frailty, and ageing. We are looking to appoint a full‑time occupational therapy technician in the Early Intervention and Prevention Hub (EIPH) which is a short‑term "front door" service within the Borough of Bridgend, providing time‑specific responses in a person‑centred, strengths‑based, and outcomes‑focused way. This team will often be the first contact that anyone has had with Adult Social Care, so it is therefore important that people can explain their situation, feel listened to and supported. The team is multidisciplinary; the post holder will be required to work collaboratively with the EIPH Team Managers, Senior Practitioners, Nurses, Social Workers, Social Work Assistants and Support Workers. The post will work collaboratively with the wider Community Resource Team Health and Social Care practitioners and provide information, advice and/or assistance to people and their families and carers to maintain independence and wellbeing through prevention and building resilience. The ability to greet customers through the medium of Welsh is a requirement for this post. Protecting children, young people or adults at risk is a core responsibility of all council employees. An Enhanced adult barred list criminal records check by the Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) is a requirement for this post. A valid driving licence is required for this post. The council's Hybrid Working Policy applies to this post; this provides a framework for establishing how you will undertake working hours between your home and the office.
