Essential requirements:
* Hands-on, demonstrable experience in Mineral Exploration Drilling
* Experienced working with core sizes: AQ, AQTK, BQ, BQTK, NQ, H underground or surface
* Strong communication skills
* Willingness to travel
* Clean, valid driving license
* Valid permission to work in the UK
Desirable:
* Directional/Navigational drilling
* Have completed drilling operations over 1,000 metres
* Use of zero trip wedges
Training provided in all of the above if the candidate has no experience.
Responsibilities:
* The driller is responsible for the day-to-day operation of the drill rig, supervision of the drill crew and operation of all associated drilling tools and equipment.
* Set up of the drill rig, ensuring correct alignment with front and back sights, set up of drill angle and collaring the hole to the client’s requirements.
* Drilling the hole to total depth whilst maintaining maximum core recovery and ensuring that drilling progress is commensurate with the ground conditions and depth of the hole.
* Survey the hole utilising surveying tools at depths required by the client and to ensure the hole
