Join to apply for the Senior eCommerce Manager - Food and Sports role at Shanghai VIM Industrial Design Co., Ltd.
One of our team is heading off on maternity leave. We are looking for someone to step in and lead our digital department for 12 months. This is a maternity cover with the opportunity to take the reins of a fast-moving growing digital retail business and make a real impact during a period of significant digital transformation for Holland & Barrett (H&B).
You will set the direction, put the plan into motion, and monitor the numbers. You will lead a team, collaborate across departments, and be the person who knows what’s happening in your area of the digital business.
What you'll actually be doing
* Building and executing digital category strategies that drive revenues across our food and drink ranges, where customer habits shift fast and margins matter.
* Owning the P&L for your categories and identifying what’s working, what’s not, and what needs fixing.
* Leading a team of four—mentoring, challenging, and developing them to be even better.
* Driving performance across our website and app in the UK & Ireland.
* Owning the Marketplace from top to bottom—listings, pricing, ads, vendors, inventory, and the lot, with emphasis on availability and visibility in food and drink.
* Collaborating across the business—Digital Trading, eCRM, Social, Commercial, Finance, Supply Chain—to be the connector, not the bottleneck.
* Using data to uncover trends, solve problems, and spot opportunities before they become obvious (seasonal spikes, basket behaviors, and fast-moving SKUs).
* Improving the customer experience from first click to final checkout, and everything in between.
How We Know You're Nailing It
* Revenue, margin, EBITDA—the big metrics.
* Conversion rates, AOV, IPB—the indicators of plan effectiveness.
* Customer growth—new, returning, and loyal customers.
* Bounce rates and interaction times—aiming for smoother engagement.
* Shopper frequency—valuing repeat purchases.
* If the numbers are rising and the customer experience is improving, you’re doing it right.
The Person
* Experience in a big D2C environment—ideally in food, drink, or FMCG where pace, accuracy, and product availability matter.
* A track record of spotting growth opportunities and delivering results.
* Comfort with data—reading dashboards and acting on insights.
* Leadership—experience in leading teams, developing people, and delivering outcomes.
* Marketplace know-how—worked with vendors, optimized listings, and driven performance.
* Strategic thinking—able to plan ahead while delivering today.
* Stakeholder skills—building alignment and momentum with clear direction.
* A healthy skepticism for the status quo.
