Principal Tasks:
The Logistics Team Leader in York is responsible for a small team of 5 people, management of inbound shipments, inventory management and logistics output.
* Achieve identified and agreed levels on key areas including the following:
o Efficiency and productivity
o Inbound flow of inventory to ensure timely availability for revenue output
o Logistics flow to support revenue output
o Throughput Times
* Hands on approach, directly contributing to warehouse activities.
* Manage and keep track of department performance setting effective metrics for the department and issuing relevant reporting to Adtran management.
* Motivating and enhancing the performance of the employees within the team, including providing feedback and identifying development plans in order to ensure a committed and highly skilled team.
* Implement, maintain 6S policy
Knowledge, skills and experience required:
* An experienced people manager with hands on approach, who derives job satisfaction from organizing, motivating and developing an operational team to new higher levels of performance and excellence.
* Experience working in a warehouse and logistics environment.
* Has a strong background and experience in inventory management.
* Demonstrable customer oriented approach in all internal and external dealings.
* Strong skill-set in Microsoft Office tools.
* Excellent communication skills.
* Fluent written and spoken English.
