Overview
We are looking for a Senior BEMS & Smart Buildings Consultant to lead the delivery of cutting-edge building management and smart technology solutions. You’ll work with clients across all project stages — from concept and feasibility to detailed design, tender, implementation, and commissioning — while providing leadership, coaching, and technical expertise to the wider team. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced consultant to take on a key client-facing role, influence high-profile projects, and help shape the future of smart building strategies.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead surveys, feasibility studies, and energy optimisation reviews
* Produce and oversee scheme designs, specifications, and detailed technical documentation
* Manage tender processes, including technical and commercial evaluations
* Provide senior-level client advice on BEMS, Smart Building, and IoT solutions
* Oversee project delivery, commissioning management, FATs/SATs, and handover
* Mentor and coach junior team members; support business growth and client development
* Maintain CPD and contribute to knowledge sharing across the team
Skills & Experience
* HNC (minimum) in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering; Degree desirable
* Extensive knowledge of BEMS & Smart Building systems (e.g. Trend, Tridium, Niagara)
* Proven experience in consultancy or contractor environments (design, commissioning, project delivery)
* Strong leadership and client-facing skills with the ability to engage at Director level
* Expertise in Smart Building platforms, IoT solutions, and system integration methods
* Project & programme management experience with excellent commercial awareness
* Membership of CIBSE, IET, or Smart/Wired Score accreditation (desirable)
