Project Manager Location: Mid Sussex and Essex (multi-site working, hybrid considered Salary: Competitive, £55,690 to £62,682 annual salary equivalent Contract: Permanent | Full-time The Role We are seeking an experienced Project Manager - Capital Delivery to join a senior estates and facilities team delivering a complex portfolio of capital projects. This role is central to supporting service transformation through the delivery of high-quality, compliant healthcare environments. You will lead the delivery of capital investment projects across operational healthcare sites, ranging from minor works and backlog maintenance to major infrastructure and redevelopment schemes. Working closely with clinical, operational and corporate stakeholders, you will ensure projects are delivered safely, sustainably and in line with industry standards, policies and governance requirements. Key Responsibilities Lead end-to-end delivery of estates capital projects from business case through to completion Manage multiple projects across a long-term capital investment programme Ensure robust governance, reporting, risk and benefits management in line with processes Develop and manage business cases, financial appraisals and funding submissions Oversee procurement, consultant appointments and contractor performance in line with public-sector procurement regulations Engage with senior clinical, operational and executive stakeholders to ensure projects support service delivery Ensure compliance with health & safety legislation, statutory regulation and best practice Contribute to long-term estates and capital strategy and service transformation programmes About You You will be an accomplished capital or estates project manager with experience of working in a complex, highly regulated environment such as the NHS or wider public sector. Essential Experience & Skills Significant experience delivering capital or estates projects within the public sector or a comparable complex organisation Proven ability to manage multiple projects within large, multi‑year investment programmes Strong understanding of healthcare estates, construction procurement and delivery models Excellent stakeholder engagement skills, including working with clinical and senior management teams Experience managing external consultants and contractors Highly developed planning, analytical and reporting skills Qualifications Degree-level qualification (or equivalent professional experience) Formal project management qualification (e.g. PRINCE2, MSP or equivalent) Why Join Us This role offers the opportunity to play a key part in delivering estates and infrastructure projects that directly support patient care and service improvement.
