Contract: Part time / Permanent
Shifts: Friday, Saturday, Sunday - 9:30am - 3:30pm
One weekend off each month; during that week you work two weekday shifts (flexibility available).
About the Role
We have a dedicated and well‑trained team that provides an excellent standard of person‑centred care for our residents. As a Social Events Co‑ordinator you will be part of a large, diverse team who are proud of the difference we make to our residents.
What you’ll do:
* Encourage and motivate colleagues to interact with residents, bringing the outside community to life in their discussions while going about everyday activities.
* Frequently meet individual residents to establish their interests and consider how these can be supported.
* Ensure residents feel they matter, are understood, listened to and able to make their own decisions.
* Support the organisation of a variety of external activities or visits to places of interest.
* Facilitate residents forming their own social groups and special interest groups.
You will promote independence and enhance the quality of life for all residents by assessing individual interests and encouraging these. You will motivate colleagues to engage with residents on a social level to support a fulfilled life experience for the individual.
Qualifications and Skills:
* Experience working within a Care Home for the elderly (preferable).
* Keen interest in literature, world affairs, music, opera or ballet.
* Strong communication and organisational skills.
* In good general health, physically and mentally fit to meet the requirements of the role.
* Good time management and attendance.
