What the job involves The Community Support Worker is responsible for delivering community support services to individuals with profound learning disabilities and complex needs. The role involves providing practical support, enabling access to community facilities, and maintaining individuals' personal networks while building new connections. Responsibilities include implementing care plans, facilitating risk-taking to promote independence, and ensuring personal care that respects client dignity. Maintaining detailed records, supporting medication and meal-taking, and engaging with carers and other professional agencies are crucial aspects of this role. While no budget responsibilities are assigned, you'll assist service users in managing their expenditures and ensure the safe storage of equipment.
