Reporting to the Lead Engineer, the Manufacturing Engineer will take responsibility for developing, improving and optimising manufacturing systems, procedures and equipment. The role operates within a fast‑paced production environment and requires the ability to work to defined timelines.
Main Duties & Responsibilities:
Production planning - Plan, coordinate and implement efficient, cost‑effective production methods for major sub‑components and complete machines.Cross‑functional coordination - Work closely with Production, Engineering and Quality teams to establish and implement containment actions and root‑cause solutions.Standard work implementation - Introduce and maintain best‑practice standard work on the shop floor.Build/drawing pack management - Create and maintain build documentation in line with Engineering Change Orders and New Product Development.Department liaison - Collaborate with supply chain, engineering and quality functions.Lean Manufacturing - Apply Lean tools including line balancing, 5S and Poka‑Yoke.Safety integration - Ensure all processes, new and existing, incorporate safe working practices.Production support - Provide day‑to‑day support to the Manufacturing Department.Problem solving - Apply logical and methodical approaches to resolve issues.Criteria:
HNC/HND in Engineering or equivalent relevant experience.Working knowledge of ERP/MRP systems (Oracle experience advantageous).Competent with Microsoft Office.Experience with 3D modelling software is beneficial.Understanding of Lean Manufacturing principles.Knowledge of machine shop and fabrication processes is advantageous.Strong multi‑tasking, attention to detail and organisational skills.Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.Logical, methodical approach with strong teamwork skills.If this sounds like the next step in your career, we’d love to hear from you!
