Systems Engineer
Team Swift is recruiting a Systems Engineer responsible for the design and development of components, systems, and routings in new caravans, motor homes and holiday homes within plumbing, electrics (including 12V/auto electrical/electronic), heating and gas installations. The role focuses on delivering innovative and robust solutions that meet company and customer aspirations. The ideal candidate will be a natural problem solver with the ability to recommend innovative, robust engineering solutions that deliver against the strict targets of cost, weight, complexity, quality and timing. The product development department generates and maintains engineering drawings and bill of materials for every model, hundreds of drawings are created, modified and issued every week.
Responsibilities
* Deliver technical solutions with high quality and minimal errors.
* Take ownership of designs and solutions through concept, prototyping, testing, and production.
* Specify components, systems, and routings accurately to a highly detailed level.
* Generate accurate specification documentation, bills of materials, outsourced parts specifications, internal layouts, engineering support, test specifications, and supervise test work.
* Provide solutions that are accurate, unambiguous, on time and in line with agreed plans.
* Support technical work through the new NPI process, gateway reviews, and operational processes.
* Assist the Customer Experience Team with information and support, communicating with customers and dealers as requested.
* Provide expertise and technical support to the broader company.
* Perform other duties as required by line management.
* Maintain suitable and safe housekeeping levels within the working environment.

Qualifications, Skills & Experience
* Degree in Electrical Engineering is preferred.
* Diploma or City & Guilds qualifications relating to BS7671:2008+A2:2022 (18th Edition) or equivalent modules covering requirements for electrical installations, design and verification, inspection and testing, verification and certification.
* Knowledge of caravan & furniture construction, materials, and engineering practices in the caravan industry.
* Experience or qualifications in design of ELV/Automotive, HVAC and Gas systems and installations.
* Ability to work well under pressure to achieve deadlines.
* Good problem‑solving skills, able to analyse problems and establish root causes, providing robust solutions.
* High level of accuracy and strong attention to detail.
* Flexible, adaptable, enthusiastic and motivated.
* Strong verbal and written communication skills.
