About the role
The Diabetes Research Centre and NIHR Leicester Biomedical Research Centre are seeking a motivated research assistant to join a successful team working on projects led by Prof Pratik Choudhary focused on type 1 diabetes and technology.
The successful candidate will contribute to the REDDIE project, which involves real-world evidence for diabetes decision-making, as well as projects analyzing CGM and physical activity data. There are also opportunities to work on various ongoing projects in this area.
We welcome applicants from diverse backgrounds such as medical statistics, biostatistics, or data science. Enthusiasm for the topic, along with the ability to learn, synthesize evidence, and collaborate across disciplines, is essential. Experience in longitudinal data analysis and basic causal inference knowledge would be advantageous.
Training and support will be provided.
The role is based at the Leicester Diabetes Centre at Leicester General Hospital, renowned for research in diabetes prevention and management, and hosts several NIHR research initiatives.
About you
Applicants should hold a MSc in a relevant discipline, with experience in experimental or translational research, whether through employment or academic projects. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills are required, with the ability to work independently and in a multidisciplinary team.
