An opportunity has arisen to join our growing team at Royal Primary Care, and we are looking for an enthusiastic Receptionist/Administrator to work within our busy medical practice within the Chesterfield area.
We're looking to employ a receptionist/administrator to join our busy GP practice based in the Chesterfield area.
Responsibilities
* 1 x 37.5 hours per week – Full‑time
* Ensure the reception area is manned and welcoming at all times.
* Process personal and telephone requests for appointments, home visits, and telephone consultations, directing callers to the appropriate healthcare professional.
* Complete all reception and administrative tasks in a timely and accurate manner, process and distribute incoming and outgoing mail.
* Take and relay messages promptly, ensuring effective communication between patients and clinical staff.
* Process repeat prescriptions in accordance with Practice guidelines.
* Enter and manage patient data accurately on the computer system (SystmOne).
* Respond to enquiries from patients, colleagues, and external healthcare providers.
* Clear and re‑stock consulting rooms as required.
* Provide general clerical support, including word processing, filing, photocopying, diary management, and scanning.
* Monitor and maintain office and clinical stationery supplies.
* Handle clinical waste appropriately, ensuring it is taken to designated areas.
* Keep the reception area, noticeboards, and leaflet displays tidy and well‑organised.
* Undertake note sorting, scanning, and administrative duties relating to patient records and Practice documentation.
Essential Qualifications
* GCSEs in Maths and English (Grade C/4 or above).
* Basic IT skills, including familiarity with Microsoft Office.
* Experience working with the public, ideally in a reception or customer service environment.
* Understanding of basic office procedures.
