You’ll take ownership of the technical agenda at a large, complex fresh produce site supplying major UK retailers. This is a flagship operation and the business is investing heavily in strengthening its technical leadership. The role sits alongside the Head of Operations, requiring a technical leader with the credibility and gravitas to influence at every level. You’ll lead retailer audit performance, strengthen consistency across GMP and food safety standards and coach an established technical team to embed best practice rather than react to issues. Importantly, you will be a visible presence on site focussed on driving cultural change and compliance while contributing to the longer-term technical strategy of a business committed to strengthening its technical culture. What You’ll Need To succeed in this role you will need proven experience as a Technical Manager within food manufacturing, ideally within fresh produce or short shelf-life categories. You’ll have strong experience supplying major UK retailers and a track record of successfully leading BRC and retailer audits. A deep understanding of GMP, food safety systems and technical compliance is also key. It’s important that you can bring the gravitas and confidence to operate at senior site leadership level, working closely with operations leaders and influencing decision making across the site. You’ll also bring a hands-on, visible leadership style, able to drive cultural improvement and behavioural change rather than simply enforcing standards. What Next?
