The Oxford Internet Institute – founded in 2001 - is a multidisciplinary research and teaching department of the University of Oxford, dedicated to the social science of the Internet. We have an exciting opportunity for a Research Assistant to join Dr Fabian Braesemann’s team at the Oxford Internet Institute, University of Oxford. This is a full-time, fixed-term position to 30 September 2025, starting in January. You will be based at the Schwarzman Centre, Oxford but there may be the opportunity for occasional remote working within the UK. We are seeking a motivated and analytically minded Research Assistant with a background in economics to join our Science of Startups research project, which explores the role of personality traits in entrepreneurship and which studies startup ecosystems more broadly. Responsibilities include:
* Supporting data collection and econometric analysis of large survey datasets.
o Applying quantitative and qualitative research approaches to study the relationship between personality, entrepreneurship, and startup success.
o Conducting literature reviews and synthesising findings at the intersection of entrepreneurship research, business and economics.
o Assisting in the preparation of publications, presentations, and reports for both academic and policy audiences.
o Co-supervising student researchers; engaging with external stakeholders
o Joining business-related outreach events and present at conferences
You will Hold a first degree in economics or a related subject, have excellent communication skills, and experience in survey-based research programmes, and basic programming in R.
