Sourcing and procurement consultant

Sourcing and Procurement Executive Our client are a long established, specialist sourcing and procurement organisation, supplying a range of Industrial, Mechanical, IT and Electrical products across the globe. Due to plans to expand, they are looking for a Procurement Officer, with experience in Sourcing, Procurement/Purchasing and with a desire to learn and further develop within the sector. To be effective in this role, you need to have some background in commercial sourcing and procurement, possess strong organisational skills and have a strong aptitude for learning. As the role develops, it will involve international travel to client and supplier sites. Responsibilities of the Sourcing and Procurement Executive: - Sourcing items for customers via a range of suppliers and obtaining quotations and delivery information - Prepare, implement, and execute procurement process, including contract negotiation work with finance teams throughout the procurement cycle to assist in the payment to suppliers and receive payments from clients - You will be involved in researching contracts and tenders and negotiating with suppliers; particularly within the sectors of health, education, IT, office supply, emergency supplies - Communicating with international clients with request for quotations, and sourcing relevant suppliers; developing commercial awareness to drive project success - Intense use of Excel for raising quotes, Pro-forma and commercial invoices - Lots of email correspondence with clients and suppliers across the globe. Skills/Experience needed for the Sourcing and Procurement Executive role: - A minimum of 1-2 years experience in a Sourcing, Procurement/Purchasing role is required; - Organisational and multi-tasking skills, with the ability to prioritise workloads - Strong commercial acumen, with an interest in International Business - Good communication, both written and verbal - Strong MS Office skills (Word, Excel, Outlook) - Attention to detail and able to produce work of an accurate nature This role offers a great opportunity to learn more about successful Procurement and Sourcing and offers long term progression within the company into a senior Sourcing & Procurement specialist position.
