Job Title: Care Assistant

Location:Castlepark, Irvine (KA12), KA12 8SZ

Reports to: Senior Carer / Nurse / Care Home Manager

Job Purpose

To provide high-quality, person-centred care and support to residents, ensuring their comfort, dignity, and wellbeing at all times. The role involves assisting with daily living activities, promoting independence, administering or assisting with medications (where applicable), and maintaining a safe and supportive environment in accordance with care plans and regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities

1. Personal Care & Support

* Assist residents with washing, bathing, dressing, and toileting.

* Support mobility needs, including the use of hoists, wheelchairs, and walking aids.

* Help residents with eating and drinking, including preparing meals and assisting where needed.

* Promote independence while offering necessary support.

2. Medication Awareness

* Assist in administering medication in line with care plans and policies.

* Maintain accurate records of medication administration and report any discrepancies.

* Monitor for side effects and escalate any concerns to senior staff or nurses.
